Every spring is an extremely busy time for the publishing world – after Bologna and London comes the Warsaw Book Fair. On 19th-22nd May, the National Stadium turned into a mecca of all book lovers. As usual, the venue was crowded with readers hoping to get an autograph from their beloved author or simply to visit their favourite publisher’s stand.
We had the pleasure of spending the fair mainly at meetings, catching up with Polish publishers. No matter how many e-mails you write, they cannot replace a nice face-to-face conversation on the plastic chairs at the stadium! Additionally, this year an editor of the children’s division of one of our clients, Bloomsbury Publishing, paid a short visit to Warsaw. And let us just say, every place is a good place for a picnic :)
Macadamia has been present on the market for over 2,5 years now, and therefore obviously, with every fair, more and more books which have been published in Poland with our little help can be found on the stands. And every time we are equally proud and happy :)
It must also be noted that once again, for the third time, we conducted our seminar for novice writers. The audience turned up numerously (“as usual”, we might add), and the Q&A section (way too short!) became an interesting exchange of remarks and observations.
